2-days Luxury Otavalo & Liberty Train
Day 1 Otavalo - Cotacachi - Cuicocha
Your guide will pick you up in a private transportation at your hotel in Quito for the ride to Otavalo. The market in Otavalo is world famous for good reason. Every day, hundreds of vendors pack the central square and surrounding streets, setting up stalls where they sell brightly colored handicrafts, paintings, wooden items, jewelry and more. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, the size of the market doubles, as these are traditional market days in Otavalo. After the market, the transportation will take you to the nearby town of Cotacachi, renowned for its leather goods such as jackets, belts and purses. Lunch will be served at a luxury restaurant.
After lunch, you will travel to Cuicocha, a picturesque highland lake, where a ferry will take you on a tour of the lake and the three small islands of volcanic origin. After the visit to Cuicocha, you will arrive at one of the Andean haciendas of the north, where you can relax before enjoying a delicious dinner.
Day 2 Liberty Train Ride - Quito
On the second day, you will be picked up at the hotel after breakfast and taken to Ibarra to catch the Liberty Train. The guide will point out sites of interest along the way, and once in Ibarra he or she will take you through the modern train station and onto the train.
The train trip from Ibarra to Salinas takes about an hour and a half. Your guide will accompany you and the transportation will be waiting for you at Salinas. After visitng the town of Salinas we will drive to a nearby hacienda for lunch.E-mail usUSA: 1 877 4367512Enquire now
